EPL: Liverpool v Man Utd [Review]
In tonight's Monday night EPL fixture, Jose Mourinho's United travelled to Anfield to take on their arch-rivals Liverpool.
The circumstances prior to the match are quite clearly what shaped this game. Liverpool have been in great form and United have been having a bit of difficulty trying to build confidence and shrug off the Louis Van Gaal effect.
United came into the game with a clear game plan and that was to defend with solidarity and nullify Klopp's high energy Liverpool. In the first half Liverpool were not able to do much of anything and United seemed more likely to create the chance needed to score.
In the 2nd half however Adam Lallana came on and Coutinho was pushed forward, after this Liverpool were playing far more fluently. If it wasn't for the brilliance of Spaniards Ander Herrera and De Gea then Liverpool surely could have won this one. Instead the game ended goalless.
While some United fans may have been left longing for the attacking United of the past, Mourinho will surely be happy with an away point in a month containing a lot of tough fixtures still left to be played.
