Manchester's New Hero
Manchester United 3 - 2 Arsenal
In the late 90s/early 2000s Manchester United vs Arsenal was the clash of the titans in the Barclays Premier League. In the last couple of years or so this has been less so the case. Today however marked the first time in a while that the game was competitive with Arsenal fighting for the title and United still holding on to hopes of securing qualification for the Champion's League.
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford continued to impress with 2 goals for the club on his league debut against title chasers, Arsenal. The 18-year-old also scored 2 in United's previous game against Denmark's FC Midtjylland. Ander Herrera added to Rashford's brace with a deflected shot and when considering United's injury list their performance was much better than expected.
Arsenal fans will be left disappointed with their team's performance as the favourites to win put in a lacklustre 1st half performance. With the help of the assist master Mesut Özil, ex-United player Danny Welbeck was able to make the scoreline 2-1 to give Arsenal a chance going into the 2nd half. Özil was then able to get a goal of his own in the 2nd half after United had gone 3-1 up. Unfortunately for Arsenal fans it was not enough as they were unable to secure any points in the same weekend that Tottenham and Leicester each snatched 3.
