Community Shield: Leicester v Manchester United [Review] #ZlatanTime

Today the FA Community Shield took place at Wembley Stadium with BPL Champions Leicester City facing FA Cup winners Manchester United.

While the Community Shield is somewhat treated like a pre-season friendly game it is nonetheless a chance to grab some silverware before the season officially kicks off. For both teams this was an important game as Leicester are trying to prove they can remain at the top this season and Mourinho's United need to show they can get back into the throne room.

In the first half the game was a little bit slow with players still building up match fitness after the off-season, there were spells were United were strong in attack and at times Leicester too posed a threat. The first goal came from FA Cup scorer Jesse Lingard who surprised everyone once again when he dribbled past several players in midfield before drifting into the box to put away his shot.

In the 2nd half Leicester's Jamie Vardy was able to pinch a goal after Fellaini reminded everyone he can't pass with a terrible attempt to send the ball to De Gea. After this the game slowed down again due to numerous substitutions being made in the last 30 mins. United continued to probe and in 83' minute United's Valencia took the ball into the box before crossing it to Zlatan Ibrahimović. Can you guess what happened next? That's right, Zlatan headed it into the box to score the match winner.

Leicester's ability to beat the big teams this season appears to be a little weakened with the loss of Kante being painfully obviously. If they can keep Mahrez and Vardy then we're predicting that they could finish in the top 6. For United this game proved that they are going to be a serious threat this season especially with the news today that Paul Pogba has been given permission by Juventus to take a medical ahead of his £100m move.
